The D&L Rail Trail Keeps Expanding
Newest section creates unbroken path through Northampton County
In case you missed this news regarding the Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Trail from over the summer, here’s a link to the article by Matt Assad, Managing Editor at the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission.
The D&L Trail is an absolute regional treasure and the closer it gets to its final 165-mile length, the more valuable it becomes. It’s at 148 miles now and with the addition of 1.5 miles by year’s end, it will provide an unbroken path through Northampton County.
In addition to the article, there’s also a new official Trail Guidebook and an app for your phone along with some very useful maps for different sections of the Trail so you don’t miss out on any of the opportunities along the way.
Check it out and with the winter coming, there probably won’t be as many people out there. I’ll bet you can find lots of room to explore nature.
BREAKING NEWS - As I was putting this issue together, news came from Janet Robertson at the Easton EAC that the City of Easton’s Council unanimously approved their Climate Action Plan. You’ll be able to read more about it in Janet’s article in the next issue. If you don’t want to miss it, subscribe to Lehigh Valley Green NOW!
